Business Partners - Impact and management

Manorlane makes a significant contribution to the Scottish economy through its supply chain. Around 500 suppliers currently work across the Manorlane Group of companies and it is estimated that the value of goods and subcontract labour purchased for the year to 30th April 2007 was £7 million.

We outsource much of the development process and therefore engagement with the supply chain is crucial in meeting our build quality objectives.

The formal relationship with our sub-contractors (and consultants) is encapsulated by what we call a ‘Partnering Arrangement Contract’ which establishes the basis for the ongoing relationship, embraces our core company values and covers a range of issues from health and safety, insurance, quality and relevant sustainability requirements.

Manorlane’s business partners play a crucial role in the delivery of high quality housing and although their contribution is often largely invisible, their importance cannot be understated.

In an effort to maintain construction quality and ensure all sub-contractors working on Manorlane sites are achieving the expected high standard of workmanship, a new award initiative will shortly be launched which will mark all sub-contractors on their performance on a range of criteria including quality of work, health & safety, punctuality, communication and follow-up customer care.
